Well here we are once again with an old Retro aircraft, in the Boeing 707-300
from Captainsim.
This is aircraft is older than me so far give me if my information is a bit off
target.
The Boeing Family of 707’s in the 1960’s as Boeing sat down and said we need an
intercontinental aircraft plans were made and the name Boeing 707 was born.
Although it was not the first commercial jet in service, the 707 was among the
first to be commercially successful. Dominating passenger air transport in the
1960s, and remaining common throughout the 1970s, the 707 is generally credited
with ushering in the Jet Age.

Its looks made this aircraft stand out from the rest its pin Sharpe nose and
tail paved the way for today’s Boeing aircraft. The Boeing 707-300 witch is the
main focal point of this review today was somewhat made to last witch it did
that last order for this aircraft was placed in 1994 some 38 years later after
it rolled off the production line at Boeing. For its time the aircraft had a
range of 1,600 miles (2,600 km) allowing the aircraft to operate as true
transoceanic aircraft.
Along with a takeoff weight of 335,000lb this aircraft was to become a dominator
of the 60’s & 70’s delivering over 400 aircraft in this period.

But this aircraft has not enjoyed most of its life having crashed many of the
fleet; note the last crash witch was only carrying Cargo crash On 21 October
2009, Azza Transport Flight 2241, a Boeing 707-320, crashed shortly after
take-off from Sharjah International Airport, United Arab Emirates. The flight
was carrying cargo only and all six crew were killed. But that aside the
aircraft still hold a great record of passenger carrying.

But anyways that’s the past; the aircraft these days is a simple 114Mb of
downloadable software packaged nice and tight into an EXE installer along with a
key code.
When I was asked to review this produced I said umm it’s older than me, but what
the heck im up for it so correct me if im wrong please lol.
First I have to chat about the Installation of the Product;
yeah it comes in a nice EXE auto installer wow brilliant nothing out of the
ordinary these days just the way I like it nice and simple sweet.
After your purchase you will receive a nice little email thanking you for buying
Captainsim Products along with your Reg code or Key code if you want to call.
Run the installer and use your eyes follow the screens clicking next next next
and adding your key code and always make sure its locating your FSX folder just
check in case. Then you will see the installer counting you down 10% 32% 68% 99%
wait two minutes 100% wow ready to fly baby.
Like I said very simple just long winded lol on my part; just checking you’re
still reading.

At sim-reviews we follow a set pattern just to make it easier on the viewer.

So next up is the documentation part of the review, I have
looked high and low on my PC for the folder saying look this way it’s the Manual
Umm just joking it’s not there, unlike past version from Captainsim but I have
found them on the website login to Captainsim you will see the title manuals.
Yes I screamed (Manual 1) contains the User manual consisting of only 23 pages’
but it does go in deep. (Manual 2) Contains the Aircraft Systems Umm I few more
pages are coming your way now as this manual contains 103 pages. The final
manual gives you’re the normal procedures of the aircraft and once again
contains a mere 59 pages so if you want to fly this aircraft the best way
possible read them im sure you will find the 3 manuals a great help. This is the
moment when you see just how detailed the work is, Captainsim have gone into a
deep detailed mode to give you the end user the best and most satisfying
experience.

This is possibly the best part so far talking about Interior and
Exterior
;
I have been looking around the aircraft from the outside and I have to say other
than seeing old aircraft paint work there is nothing to moan about. But I have
said this before this aircraft was before me so ye old paint work looks great
Qantas and Pam-Am looking lush in the glory days.
Im sure some of you out there are wondering what the hell those big funnels on
three engines are well I looked it up and found it to be for the cabin
pressurisation without them there you could and would not be able to breathe on
board a B707 at say 33’000ft so the clever little men at Boeing said here we are
let the people breathe and so the 3 turbine’s intakes were born. The quality
from the outside is second to none and looks beyond great I could not even find
a flaw in the paint works. And as always with aircraft from Captainsim Barbra
was waiting for me at the doors as I left the aircraft sim-reviews have now
given the lady a name we chose Barbra. We will skip inside and look at what’s to
offer from cockpit to cabin. Firth of all I will start sat-down in the cockpit
and I have to say looking round the area I have one issue only the cockpit loads
too slow from changing angles the cockpit loads a little on the slow side and it
also hang up my FSX now im running a AMD 6000+ D-core and 4 Gb Ram OCZ this
should clearly not happen but it does im sorry to say.
So if your PC is of a lower grade you may struggle to keep your FSX from a blue
screen or complete shutdown. If you can overcome that let’s move on to the cabin
where you will see some great art work from the ye old walls of the cabin to the
space of maximum seating, in a very spacious area.
The decor is that of the early 80’s style and I like it I have to say such art
work like this can still be seen in aircraft around the world and a good example
is at Duxford on board the DC10. It’s very much the same and holds a high
respect among many from past times.

Modelling: Well as you may know the Boeing 707-300 is new
that’s why im reviewing it. But im sure you will notice there are no add-ons for
the aircraft at this moment in time. But rest assured Captainsim are working on
a Cargo Version and the VC-137 not leaving out the great E-3A sentry. Now im
sure these packages will come at a cost, but I would not be scared Captainsim
keep their prices low to accommodate your flightsim with top quality aircraft.
so watch this space visit Captainsim every week or just sign up to the
Newsletter and im sure you will be the first to know about it.

Looking at the Overall of the aircraft I have to say Captainsim
have hit this aircraft on the nose, it’s of a high grade and nothing is out of
place with this aircraft. The Boeing 707 holds a place for many Aircraft lovers
and for me this is one of the best aircraft of 2010 well worth the price tag set
by Captainsim.
If you want to see high grade pictures from sim-reviews please visit the forums
for full colour pictures other than that great aircraft worth every penny I have
worked for.

Sim-reviews gives the Captainsim Boeing 707-300 a Gold star Award.
